In 2021, Citi committed $1 trillion to sustainable finance by 2030, aligning with the ambitious agenda of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The climate crisis is an existential threat to our planet and to humanity, with people in many developing countries at greatest risk.

Our $1 trillion commitment includes financing the transition to a low-carbon economy by $500 billion by 2030, helping to mitigate the global climate crisis.

We are also actively reducing our own carbon footprint. Citi is targeting net zero emissions by 2030, having already achieved the goal of using 100% renewable electricity in 2020.

Citi is also spearheading strategic initiatives to promote racial equity in the US.

These include broadening access to banking and credit in communities of color, increasing investment in Black-owned businesses, expanding homeownership, and advancing anti-racist practices in the financial services industry.
